COURSE DESCRIPTION
The grade 5 health and physical education course builds on experiences from grade 4 Health and Physical Education. The emphasis in the junior grades should be on building students’ understanding of themselves in relation to others.

4 – Healthy Living
Students apply, to the best of their ability, a range of social-emotional learning skills. Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of being physically active, and apply physical fitness concepts and practices that contribute to healthy, active living. apply movement strategies appropriately, demonstrating an understanding of the components of a variety of physical activities. demonstrate the ability to make connections that relate to health and well-being – how their choices and behaviors affect both themselves and others.
