COURSE DESCRIPTION
The grade 4 English course continues to build on material from grade 3 English. Students will listen and interpret others’ opinions, and demonstrate an understanding of cause and effect relevant to the text.

4 – Media Literacy
Identify the purpose and audience for a variety of media texts. Identify the topic, purpose, and audience for a variety of writing forms. gather information to support ideas for writing using a variety of strategies such as oral, print, and electronic sources. Read a variety of texts from diverse cultures, including literary texts. Demonstrate an understanding of the information and ideas in a variety of oral texts by summarizing important ideas and citing important details.
