COURSE DESCRIPTION
The grade 2 English course builds on the curriculum explored in grade 1 English, students will expand their understanding and skill on the following topics:
1 – Oral Communication
2 – Reading
3 – Writing
4 – Media Literacy
Students will identify purposes for listening in a variety of situations, formal and informal, and set personal goals for listening with support and direction. Identify several different purposes for reading and choose reading materials appropriate for those purposes. Identify the topic, purpose, audience, and form for writing. Identify the purpose and intended audience of some simple media texts.
